Ephrata Music Teacher Selected to March in 2026 Rose Parade®

Columbia Ridge Elementary Music Director, Alicia Keegan, has been selected to participate in the 2026 Pasadena Rose Parade® as part of the “Band Directors Marching Band.”
Keegan will join 350 band directors from across the country to march along the 5.5-mile parade route on January 1, 2026, accompanying a colorful float. The band’s theme, “America’s band directors: We teach music. We teach life,” honors the dedication of music educators who not only teach music but also mentor students in life skills.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the importance of music education,” Keegan said. “Singing, dancing and playing instruments is part of a balanced education.”
The band will be directed by nationally known music educator Jon Waters, who will also lead rehearsals and a Bandfest performance in Pasadena.
The project is sponsored by the Michael D. Sewell Memorial Foundation, which honors the legacy of Mike Sewell, a lifelong advocate for school and community music programs in Pickerington, Ohio.
We are proud to see Ms. Keegan representing Ephrata Schools on this national stage!
